| Goodbye KCRC. To me, I never think that the service by KCRC is really that poor. People usually have bias when comparing KCRC to MTRC. However, they usually do not aware of the real differences in the operations environment and the uniqueness of the KCRC system. If MTRC were in charge of the KCRC system in the past and thinking that was as easy as the MTRC system, disasters must had happened already. A dynasty comes to the end soon, but I don't think the new merger will really bring us good future. We all have too many idealistic expectations! Actually the fare scale of KCRC is used to be cheaper then MTRC. With free shuttle bus cut, no more monthly pass, no half-price for students on KCRC lines etc... the MTRC and the government is actually cheating most of the HK people. And remember MTRC is publicly listed (0066.HK), with the newly acquired assets, the management must reflects the expected growth in revenue to sustain the stock price... and what do you think they will do? However, I agree that the management of KCRC was not really good; but I didn't like Mr. Tien either. However, most of the front line staffs in KCRC are really good and serve the public with heart. And good luck to the MTRC too.
